Finished two paintings, and need your help!

Finally finished two of the paintings I gave the sneak preview on last week!

It was a tough youngest, who just turned 7 was sick with a cold all week, running a fever for most of it. I kept him home from school.  I do love having my little buddy with me, but I do get concerned.  I don't like seeing him miss so much school, though he is pretty bright, it doesn't seem to affect his schoolwork too badly.  He's already missed almost 2 weeks of school this winter.  He loves to paint alongside me.  He does a great job and he chooses some pretty interesting subjects to paint.  I will post his work when he finishes his piece that he started.

Those that follow me on facebook have already seen the leaves painting finished.  I call it "Back to the Earth".

Back to the Earth

These are leaves that were laying on the ground in my garden. The crocuses were popping up around them.  Funny how life is like that.  The old, falling back into the earth, making way for the next cycle, the next season.

Here is the crow painting...looks quite different from the preview.
Crow Calling

I call this painting "Crow Calling". I snapped a pic of this beauty as he was up in a huge poplar tree just outside my kitchen door. My cat, Jag was trying to make friends with him, but I don't think this gorgeous Corvus wanted anything to do with him!

Both of these paintings are for sale on my Etsy site, just click on the images to go there.

I'm pretty happy with how they turned out.  Hope you like 'em!

Have you ever heard of Heartsy?  For those that buy on Etsy, it's a great place to get deals of over 50% off different shops.  For a seller to become featured on Heartsy, they must be voted on by the community before they are reviewed and featured.  A seller must have 60 votes within a 72 hour period.  I am trying to get featured right now, and I'd really appreciate your votes!  This would give buyers the opportunity to purchase my artwork at great prices and it is great advertising for me.  It's win-win!

So, this is where I need your help...if you haven't already, I would really, really, really appreciate it if you could go to and vote for me.  Just click "Yes, definitely" to vote.

Thanks so much and have a wonderful week!

  1. I really like the Crow paintings .. I have a family of Crows behind my place .. The one which is my favorite is one I call Drop Wing because he /she can't fold the right wing , but flies perfectly ... xxxx

  2. I voted for you! Both your new paintings are so lovely - I especially love Crow Calling. So beautiful, Jo! Theresa

  3. Drop Wing...I wonder what his/her story is...what happened to that wing? Thanks for sharing, wem! I'm glad you like my crow paintings :-)

Thanks so much for voting, Theresa...really appreciate it!♥ Glad you like Crow Calling.

One thing I noticed since I started painting crows that really surprised me is how many people love these amazingly beautiful, intelligent birds.

  4. Jo-Ann, thanks for coming by my blog and giving me a nice comment! :) I think your art is very sensitive and beautiful. Maybe your son is a budding artist?
    I voted for you...

  5. Oh, thank you so much, Maria for the kind comments on my work and for voting for me!

  6. I love the crows as well. We leave our meat scraps on our stone wall for them. They appreciate it. :) As always ~ Beautiful!

  7. Thanks, Rosemari :-) Funny, my youngest son and I were talking the other day about what crows would like to eat...I didn't know they eat meat...thanks for sharing! He also told me he saw a crow with an envelope in his mouth...maybe we are reading a little too much Harry Potter lol

Thanks so much for stopping by jdmstudios...I love getting comments ♥
