Just thought I'd share some of the other ATC's I made while working on the piece I created for the Artist Trading Card event at the Confederation Center in Prince Edward Island.
These little paintings are like a "mini-series" I painted while creating the art card for this fun art event. The art card and series are both called "I Believe, I Wish"...you can have a peek at the post by clicking here. I explain what art cards are here, too, just in case you haven't heard of them before :-)
The painting on the left here is called "I Believe". It is painted on 140lb watercolor paper and it is painted with watercolor and acrylics.
I find that sometimes when I'm painting, I can get impatient and go into washes before they're dry and just make a mess.
So, I like to have a 3 or 4 that I work on all at the same time. While one wash is drying, I can move on to the next painting. This is great because I find it helps me to keep it fresh. I am constantly moving from one painting to another. Then while one area is drying, I can move on to another painting using colors that are already mixed and ready to go. I am in the groove and able to keep on moving.
The Art card to the right is called "I Wish". It is also watercolor and acrylic on 140 lb watercolor paper.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope you like these art cards. I plan to have them listed on Etsy shortly so they will be available for sale soon.
Are you an artist who creates art cards? Are you an art card collector? Leave a comment...I'd love to hear from you :-)
I get so impatient waiting for things to dry so like you I love to work on multiple things at the same time. Those cards are so pretty, I especially like the second one "I Wish".
ReplyDeleteThank you...I think "I Wish" is my favorite, too. Glad to hear I"m not the only impatient one. Once I get on a roll I don't want to stop!
ReplyDeleteJo-Ann, I love these!! I really love these!!! And, I am like you! I find I have at least 3 paintings on the go, at one time, especially with the aceo's! They are so tiny, I can't rush them!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Stacy! I just bought a new pad of watercolor paper at Michael's tonight so I can start some more tomorrow...Yay!
ReplyDeleteFantastic, at first I didn't see the words & then like magic they seemed to appear from the colours, these are wonderful :)
ReplyDeleteHi Jo-Ann! I'm so glad to meet you through Stacy! Your shop is wonderful, especially the crows! I love crows too! Your two watercolors here are spectacular! The colors are so fluid and vibrant and the words are perfect with them!!! You should join us for Paint Party Friday,if you haven't already, its a blast! Thanks for visiting my blog! Deb
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Shelle...what you described about the words appearing from the colors reminded me of those 3d pictures that used to be for sale in malls...do you remember them? They were like an abstract patterned painting and if you stared at it long enough, a 3d image would appear.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Deb :-) I did sign up for the Paint Party Friday...I wasn't sure if I could just jump in, but here I go! lol
